Breakers were slappy in the first over. They conceded four byes then missed a skied catch attempt off Fletcher, admittedly, quite tough to catch with the windy conditions. Fletcher played a pull shot down to mid wicket and what should have been an easy stop, went for four due to very casual fielding. Breakers was in control and Rangers only got to 24/2 at the end of the powerplay.

Rangers got their first maximum during the 6th over, hit by Persaud. Persaud was not done as he hammered three more sixes during the 7th over to shift back some momentum to Rangers. Primus got jealous and played two superb shot over the off side to pick up maximums to keep Rangers in the match, being 88/3 after 8 overs.
