Breakers were slappy in the first over. They conceded four byes then missed a skied catch attempt off Fletcher, admittedly, quite tough to catch with the windy conditions. Fletcher played a pull shot down to mid wicket and what should have been an easy stop, went for four due to very casual fielding. Fletcher was dropped in the 3rd over but was finally held two deliveries later, caught safely at mid on by Ryan John off the bowling of Delorn Johnson. Breakers was in control and Rangers only got to 24/2 at the end of the powerplay.
Rangers got their first maximum during the 6th over, hit by Persaud. Persaud was not done as he hammered three more sixes during the 7th over to shift back some momentum to Rangers. Primus got jealous and played two superb shot over the off side to pick up maximums to keep Rangers in the match, being 88/3 after 8 overs.
Rangers finished their innings on 113/4, thanks to a scintillating 42 from 17 deliveries from Ravendra Persaud, which contained 6 sixes. Roshon Primus supported with 29 from 17 deliveries, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. Rangers scored 89 runs from their none powerplay overs.
Breakers got a tremendous start, being 19/0 after the first over, ten of those runs being extras. Alleyne pulled Persaud for six then hit two fours through the off side before Sween decided he wanted some of the fun and slapped a four down the ground to push Breakers to 40/0 after 2 overs. Dember, Rangers best bowler, came under the pump as well, being hit for 3 fours and 1 six by Alleyne as Breakers rushed to 60/0 after 3 overs.
Breakers finished the powerplay on 81/0, taking 21 runs from the 4th over. The cheapest over of the powerplay was 19 runs. Breakers lost their first wicket at the end of the 5th over, scoring 94 runs off 30 deliveries for the opening stand. Breakers promoted Barnum to get some deliveries under his belt and they strolled to the finish, winning by 8 wickets and 11 deliveries to spare.
