Match Preview: Dark View Explorers vs Salt Pond Breakers – 18th Match VPL 5
This is the business end of the season and Dark View Explorers need at least two more wins from their last three games to stand a chance of making it into the playoffs. Explorers are continually being hurt at the top, where they are not getting off to good starts. They might opt to try another combination to see if it bears fruit. Darius Martin is struggling with the ball and Explorers will need him at his best if they are to over power their oppositions. Sealron Williams showed promising form in their last game where he was able to stop the scoring blitz that Rangers was imposing on his bowling mates.
Salt Pond Breakers are at a stage where a loss will hurt them and damage their confidence. Due to a heavy loss in their last game, their net run rate is not in a good position so they cannot afford to tie on points to decide their fate in the playoffs. You live and die by the sword, and their continually attacking nature is the reason they won a few games and also the reason why they lost so badly in their last match. Delorn Johnson, whose main job is that of a bowler, is currently their form batsman and he is really putting on a show for the fans. His bowling is almost back to what he was known for and is currently Breakers man for the mission. The spin of Warrican and Fredericks have been inconsistent but they’ll need to turn over better performances to give Breakers a shot of winning and getting into the play offs. Ryan John was been very good with the ball but gives away too many extras at times and spoils his figures.
