Match Preview: Dark View Explorers vs Botanical Gardens Rangers – 15th Match VPL 5
Time is running out for Dark View Explorers and they will need to get back to winnings way sooner rather than later. Explorers major issue is that they have gotten some slow knocks from personnel at the top barring Descarte and Pierre. Someone else need to put their hand up and take the pressure off Descarte and Pierre and Explorers may bag their 2nd win of the tournament. They have not been performing that bad despite what the points table say. Of the three games they have lost, two have been by narrow margins so their net run rate is not terrible at this point. A win over Rangers will put them back on the map. Their bowling looks rusty and they need Darius Martin to be back at his best and utilise the help that the taller, faster bowlers are getting from the wicket with the new ball.
Rangers are playing excellent Cricket, with Fletcher hitting his straps in the last two matches, belting some massive sixes out the ground. They have found an excellent opening combination in Keron Cottoy and Andre Fletcher. Cottoy is one of the better players of spin which makes it even more challenging for oppositions as they have to be bowling really good to contain the opening pair. Roshon Primus has been smashing it around powerfully. We have not had a chance as yet to witness the powerplay of Ravendra Persaud and Roneil Jeffrey. Rangers bowling is being led by Ravendra Persaud, who has been the most economical bowler of this VPL edition. Kenneth Dember has been bowling decent as well. The pace bowling options for Rangers have travelled around the park and it’s their biggest area of concern at the moment.
