Match Preview: Grenadines Divers vs Botanical Gardens Rangers – 12th Match VPL 5

Grenadines Divers came inches away from winning their last game but they fell short. It was a much better performance from them as what appeared like it would have been a 140+ score, was pulled back to 118 and they nearly overhaul it. The return to form for Chadwick Walton will be a huge boost for them and although they have lost their first four matches, they are not out of it as yet. Historically, teams have qualified with six points so Divers can win three of their next four games to stand a chance of qualifying. They however will need to win a game or two convincingly to boost their net run rate. If couple other batsmen can regain some form, Divers will be a dangerous team at the back end of this tournament. They have the quality in their side, they just need to contribute together as a team.

Botanical Gardens Rangers last match was sheer dominance from their power hitters, who are making the picturesque Arnos Vale ground look very small. Their bowlers are not in the best of form but Ravendra Persaud has been bowling superbly and basically won them their last game with such economical figures when everyone else was travelling all around the park. Keron Cottoy was batting like a man possessed and it looks as if he will continue to open the batting with Andre Fletcher for the remainder of the tournament. The way he took on the spinners made a key difference to the match. They will need more innings like that if they are to go all the way to winning their first title.
