Match Preview: Fort Charlotte Strikers vs Botanical Gardens Rangers – 8th Match VPL 5
Botanical Gardens Rangers is a star studded team and on paper, they are very hard to beat. Everyone in their potential best XI can get runs at a devastating pace. The one area where their batting has struggled has been against spin. However, on this particular strip that the match will be played on, spin will not be so much of a threat and that is good news for the Rangers. It’s a wonderful wicket and they will be looking to get a 120+ score. Their bowling will be boosted by the return of Kenneth Dember who bowls wonderfully in VPL.
Strikers went back to old ways in their 2nd match, losing the plot in the powerplay and being ineffective against spin early up. Rangers have some good spinners to call upon so they will have their work cut out for them. They do have the fire power to make big scores or to overhaul them. They have a very good bowling attack although more faith need to be shown in some of their spinners apart from Bobb if they want to go places in this tournament, which spin usually dominates.
