Match Preview: Fort Charlotte Strikers vs Botanical Gardens Rangers – 23rd Match VPL 4

March 30, 2022

Strikers have nothing to lose going into this game as they are already out of the playoffs. They however would like to play spoil sport to the Rangers who would be looking to finish in the points table ahead of the Salt Pond Breakers.

In The Spotlight

Strikers had a game outing in their last game which has been their only win. Odds are they wouldn’t be looking to change much – bowl first and use as much spin as possible to the Rangers who have been having a really hard time against the spin. Miles Bascombe was in good nick in their last match and Strikers always pose a threat when he’s playing well. Sealroy Williams has some form but you reckon it would take someone else helping out the aforementioned duo in order for the Strikers to mount a challenging score or to chase down a substantial score. Either way, there is no pressure on the Strikers tomorrow and that may prove to be the difference in the match.

Rangers continue to struggle against spin as was evident by the web that Luke Wilson had them in. Although no one has been getting any big score for them in the past few matches, they have still managed to win games – this maybe as a result of the vast amount of experience in their camp. They have quite a few batsmen that are in decent nick and they would love for one of them to get a big score. They have quite a balanced bowling attack so if they can get runs, they’ll be hard to stop.
