Match Preview: La Soufriere Hikers vs Salt Pond Breakers – 17th Match VPL 4
Breakers are unstoppable at the moment, being the first team to book their spot in the qualifiers. They are growing from strength to strength. Hikers are on a winning streak, winning three on the trot.
In The Spotlight
Rayan Williams is the man leading the bowling attack for the Hikers. He has been picking up wickets for fun, currently on 10 wickets from only three matches. Meanwhile, Kavem Hodge has been the form man with the bat, with Dillon Douglas slowly working his way back. Hikers have historically peaked at the right time and they are looking on that path again. Gidron Pope has been getting some starts but have not converted to a substantial score as yet.
The Breakers are finding ways to win games and that has been their strength this season. They have a lot of quality players and different players are stepping up to the occassion when it matters. Their bowling may have been their weak point on paper as they don’t have much spinners to call upon but their lone spinners have been doing enough to allow the seamers to work their magic. They have added Jomel Warrican to their squad, which have given them a big boost in their bowling department.
This should be a cracker of a match.

The weather forecast is looking fine with very little chance of rain playing any part in the match.
The strip that will be used is generally really good for batting but the other strips have started to wear down so there is a possibly that this pitch may have slowed down a bit but it shouldn’t be as bad as the strips used in the past 4 days.
