Match Preview – 12th Match: Salt Pond Breakers vs Dark View Explorers
Salt Pond Breakers is the only unbeaten team in the tournament. Dark View Explorers started with a bang but found themselves on the losing side in their last two matches. After this round, the tournament will be at it’s half way stage so a win is of paramount importance for them at this time.
In The Spotlight
Dark View Explorers look very heavy on the batting and not much variety in their bowling attack. They have four off spinners to chose from. What they will seriously be considering is to bring a seamer from the bench and play a batsman less. Sealron Williams, batting at number 9 currently, is more than capable of clearing the ropes. The depth is there in the batting to sacrifice one of the batsmen to offer more variety to their bowling attack. In saying that, their batting has let them down in their last two matches. With the sort of batting they have, they should be scoring 100+ scores easily. As it stands, they have made the lowest score of the tournament so far.
Breakers is finding a way to win games, with someone stepping up and bailing them out of trouble. They however have a worry on their hands. Kenzley Joseph, who has proven to be their best bowler of this edition, is no longer with the team as he is set to leave the state. Atticus Browne did bowl a good solitary over of spin in their last match and he maybe expected to step up and fill the role of Joseph with the ball. Breakers however seems to have little to worry about with the bat. Nedd, Alleyne, Stapleton and John all look to be in good rhythm and are certainly hitting the ball with ferocious power. Bowling may very well determine the match for both sides.
