Match Preview – 8th Match VPL 4: Salt Pond Breakers vs Botanical Gardens Rangers

March 21, 2022

Both teams are going into this game undefeated, which simply means, barring inclement weather, someone is going to suffer their first loss of the tournament.

In The Spotlight

Salt Pond Breakers are in fine hitting form. Stapleton & Alleyne have been quite brutal especially. Ryan John was looking in fine form before being run out. If Walker and Nedd joins the party, then Breakers are going to be putting a lot of big scores on the board. They would however be worried about their bowling. After scoring 123, they only just scrapped a win by two runs. A lot will rely on captain Delorn Johnson with the ball.

Rangers are soaring at the moment. Salvan Browne played a good innings in their last match and when he is in form, he gets his runs at a very blistering pace. The ultimate test for the Rangers would be how their batting would fare if Fletcher or Browne doesn’t produce with the bat. Cottoy is a wonderful batsman and Wayne Harper in his two brief knocks so far, looks to be rewinding the days to when he was one of the top young batsmen in the country. Keron Cottoy & Larry Edwards have been leading the bowling attack well so Rangers seem to have all their bases covered at the moment.
