Match Preview – 5th Match VPL 4: Fort Charlotte Strikers vs Salt Pond Breakers

March 20, 2022

Fort Charlotte Strikers would be looking to rebound after being single handedly defeated by Alick Athanaze of Dark View Explorers. With the bowling attack that the Strikers have, they would be confident that they can rebound in style and expect more from their batting. Salt Pond Breakers already have a win on the board and would be going into this match with confidence and look to bag their second win of the tournament.

In The Spotlight

While Strikers bowling was under the pump in their first match, they would be worried that their batting failed to get them any where close to their target. With such a good batting surface, you need to be able to get consistent 90+ scores. Miles Bascombe and Joshua James looked in decent nick and Strikers would be hoping that one of them can score big to increase their chances of winning. Ray Jordan was simply sensation, producing some classical West Indian fast bowling dismissals of stumps being rooted out the ground.

Salt Pond Breakers have power in their ranks with Ryan John, Beniton Stapleton, Kadeem Alleyne, Rickford Walker & Ricavo Williams. Their skipper Delorn Johnson, more known for his bowling, can fire the long handle effectively. They however look wanting in the bowling department and they will have to tighten up in that regard to stand a shot of being two times champion.
