Match Preview – 5th Place Playoff: Grenadines Divers vs Botanical Gardens Rangers
While not being the most important match of the day, it still carries some relevance as no one wants to finish as the official last place team.
In The Spotlight
Rangers had a miserable campaign so far, being the 2nd team in VPL history to finish the round robin stage with only one win. They however, have shown improvement in their last few matches and will want to finish their campaign on a high. Wayne Harper has been their standout performer with the bat and they will need one of his very best innings to give them a shot of winning this game. Kesrick Williams had his best VPL figures of 4/14 in the last match and bowled excellently – he is a confident Cricketer and will back himself to repeat a good bowling performance.
Grenadines Divers have for successive editions, placed 5th in the round robin stage. They’ll also like to make it successive times that they’ve won the 5th place playoff. Too often for the season, they couldn’t get their batting unit to perform collectively. They continue to struggle to finish off games. They have a good outfit with quality players but haven’t been able to string together the perfect performance often.
