Match Preview – 24th Match: Dark View Explorers vs La Soufriere Hikers

When these teams last met, Hikers were rolling along quite comfortably. They however were stopped by Explorers who have been growing from strength to strength. There is still a lot to play for in this match, as a loss for the Hikers means they will finish 3rd. Explorers however, is set to take one of the top two spots regardless of the outcome of the match due to their superior net run rate.

In The Spotlight

Hikers are firing once again. Salvan Browne seems to be back in form and Dillon Douglas is just amazing. Played a blinder of an innings to allow Hikers to chase down 124 runs, when they needed 80+ runs in the last 6 overs. You still have to contend with captain Maloney and Othneil Lewis, who have played important innings for the Hikers. Hikers bowling is now being an easy target for oppositions, getting some massive overs along the way. They have tried doing things differently – Beniton Stapleton is still being a standout performer proving hard to get away.

Explorers are on a roll, the only team to not lose two or more matches in the competition. They have a brilliant all round team. Shamon Hooper is in the form of his life, batting like a dream and Romano Pierre is not to far behind. Deron Greaves got his best innings yesterday and Dean Browne is always waiting to massacre bowling attacks. Throw in Lindon James and Alex Samuels and you have a more than solid batting lineup, arguably the best of the competition. The bowling has been doing a good job and credit to Luke Wilson and Rayan Williams who controls the middle to death overs. Shamon Hooper and Deron Greaves are bowling solid at the top. Look out Hikers, it’s not going to be a walk in the park!
