Match Preview – 14th Match: Botanical Gardens Rangers vs Dark View Explorers

May 21, 2021

Rangers are bruised and damaged, both physically and mentally – they haven’t won a game and you’ll be a brave betting man to put them as favourites going into this game.

In The Spotlight

Rangers batting and bowling are failing them all around. They will need a solid collective batting effort to trouble Explorers. They have used Urnel Thomas lower down the order but it maybe time to put all their best batters at the top and if they come good, maximise their chances of a winning total. They have the bowling attack that’s capable of defending a target.

Explorers batting is being driven by Romano Pierre who has been in brilliant touch. He has worked tremendously on his batting over the past few months, and he wasn’t seen as a blitzing T10 player in previous editions. He’s now looking to make this tournament his very own. Dean Browne has been smoking anything slightly off over the ropes. You can safely say that the batting is the least of Explorers problem. Luke Wilson continues to be a gem and golden arm for them with the ball and Rayan Williams has been delivering good death overs. They are definitely up there being one of the better drilled teams of the tournament.

Players To Watch

Wayne Harper (Rangers) – Has been looking better and better as the matches go by. He’ll want to stamp his name on the tournament, and possibly driving Rangers to their first win with an all time best knock.

Romano Pierre (Explorers) – Has been in imperious form and has been punishing anything that is slightly off. On a possible slow surface, his form and ability against the slower bowlers may come up trump.

Weather

The weather is set to be partly cloudy to sunny for most of the day, with very little chance of rain playing any part in the match.

Pitch Conditions

The surface being used for this game, is the one that was used for the first two days, which played slow and two pace. From viewing the pitch on the eve of the match, it doesn’t look like conditions will improve much, if any.
