
Match Report – 10th Match: Botanical Gardens Rangers vs Grenadines Divers
Rangers won the toss and chose to bat.
It was another horrid time for them with the bat, as they could only get 9 runs from the first three overs. Walters stepped on the gas and powered two fours from the 4th over. Walters smoked a free hit from Bracie for six over mid wicket, a savage pull shot. Bracie responded by bowling Mcleon Williams.
Rangers got a personal best from Walters who top scored with 36 from 29 deliveries. Harper was impressive scoring 28 from 12 deliveries, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. They pushed Rangers to a respectable 81/4 from their allotted 10 overs. Razine Browne was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2-9 from his 2 overs, which was loaded with a lot of top quality death overs delivery.
Kesrick Williams opened the bowling and was rushing Shem Browne with the shorter deliveries. Williams went for the fuller delivery but Shem Browne was ready for it and swung it over wide mid wicket for six. Kadir Nedd joined the action and pulled for six then straight drove the left arm spin of Providence for four. Shem Browne smashed two pull shot off Kimali Williams and Nedd finished the over with a touch down to fine leg to push along to 36/0 after 3 overs. Nedd wasn’t planning on stopping and the assault continued as Nedd hit 2 fours and 1 six to bring Divers much closer to their target, finishing the powerplay at 53/0.
Winston Samuel removed Nedd in the 6th over, and only conceded 3 runs, by far the best over of the innings for the Rangers. The game was done and dusted in the 7th over, which costed 14 runs. Shem Browne top scored with 35 not out from 24 deliveries, hitting 5 fours and 1 six. Kadir Nedd’s 33 from 16 deliveries contained 4 fours and 2 sixes.
