Match Preview – 12th Match: Salt Pond Breakers vs La Soufriere Hikers
The good ole rivalry of Breakers vs Hikers is back. They have met six times, with Breakers leading 3-2 and 1 no result. At the moment, Hikers is playing top Cricket and should be favourites for this game.
In The Spotlight
Hikers haven’t lost a game in this campaign and will be looking to extend their lead at the top. Maloney & Douglas are both looking in good nick, but apart from them, the others have looked suspect. You can never count out Salvan Browne, a dangerous batsman that only plays one way regardless of the situation. The Hikers bowling attack isn’t as good as it was in the last edition, so that’s the one area they’ll have to be on their toes with.
Breakers are coming of a rare lost, losing from a winning position. Being a champion team, they’ll no doubt want to bounce back to prove a point to their other opponents in the competition. Their major worry is whenever Ambris doesn’t fire, they look hard pressed to get runs. They got good contribution from Ozico Williams and Seon Sween is in good hitting form. They have the quality to rebound. While two of their key players are nursing injury, the stand in bowler in Denson Hoyte proved to be a top option for the team going forward.
Players To Watch
Seon Sween (Salt Pond Breakers) – He’s in good form, and after playing a rash shot in their defeat yesterday, he’ll be looking to make things right.
Salvan Browne (Hikers) – Haven’t been involved in the runs as yet, and he’ll want to start making his mark on the tournament.
