Match Report – 6th Match: Salt Pond Breakers vs Dark View Explorers

Salt Pond Breakers won the toss and chose to bat first. Ambris was dropped off the first delivery bowled by Rayan, that also went for 4. The next delivery was timed down the ground. Walker got a first ball duck on the 4th delivery and Ambris making Explorers pay for the drop catch by hitting a six. It was a bizarre 2nd over which either contained boundaries or drop catches. The over cost 22 runs, containing 2 fours, 2 sixes and 2 drop catches, all of Ambris’ bat.

Breakers were rollicking away, finishing the powerplay on 61-2. Luke Wilson and Sealron Williams combined their two overs and conceding only 9 runs. It was the last bit of relief for the Explorers as from there on, it was sheer dominance from the bat of Breaker’s men. Seon Sween and Andrew Thomas was savage, hitting lusty blows. Sween made 43 from 24 deliveries hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes. Thomas scored 29 from 12 deliveries not out, hitting 4 sixes. Breakers finishing with a massive score of 138/4 from their 10 overs.

Explorers started sinking from the first delivery, as Johnson removed form player Romano Pierre. Ambris had captain James lbw on the final delivery of the 2nd over. The 4th to 7th over was very productive for the Explorers, taking 62 runs. Dean Browne in particular was severe, hitting 31 runs from 9 deliveries, hitting 1 four and 4 sixes. After Browne’s dismissal, the Explorers needed 55 runs from 3 overs. Explorers had decent contribution from Greaves (27) and Hooper (21) but the target was too much in the end, Explorers falling well short by 43 runs.
