Match Report: Eliminator 1 – Dark View Explorers vs La Soufriere Hikers
Explorers won the toss and choose to bat.
Explorers struggled from the start, as Hodge and Lewis put the squeeze on their batsmen. Bascombe perished for a 5 ball duck. Deron Greaves was looking in fine form and took 16 runs from the 3rd over. They finished the powerplay on 29/1, well below were they would have liked to be. Explorers did well to get 63 runs from their last 6 overs but it was about 9 runs short of a threatening total. Deron Greaves top scored with 52 from 30 deliveries, hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. Beniton Stapleton was the pick of the bowlers with 2/15 from his 2 overs.
The run chase always went the way of the Hikers, as their famed batting line up seem to be getting back in form at the right time. Salvan Browne wasted no time in his stay, scoring 22 from 11 balls, hitting 1 four and 2 sixes. Captain Maloney continued his form, remaining unbeaten on 40 from 26 deliveries, hitting 5 fours and 1 six. Dillon Douglas, now the 3rd highest run scorer of the tournament, remained unbeaten on 29 from 15 deliveries, hitting 1 four and 3 sixes. The Hikers reached their target with ease, having 8 balls remaining and winning by 9 wickets.
They will face off against Botanical Garden Rangers tomorrow to battle it out to decide who will join Salt Pond Breakers in the final.
