Match Preview: 19th Match – Grenadines Divers vs La Soufriere Hikers
There is only one qualification spot left, and none of the Divers and Hikers have secured their place, so that makes this match as important as it gets. To keep control of their own fate, Divers will be hoping to win this match along with their next match.
In The Spotlight
Grenadines Divers have a knock of being in the drivers seat and then losing games with victory close in sight. They need to fix that fast and quick as the tournament is in its latter stages. They have an exciting batting line up but it seems as too much is left for Shem Browne and Asif Hooper to do. They’ll need bigger contributions from Theophile, Harper and Nedd. The Divers have been a much better unit with the ball as the tournament has progressed.
Hikers are not having a good time this tournament. Their batting isn’t the force it was in the tournament’s first edition. Captain Maloney & Salvan Browne are out of form and one reckons a change in form will bring about a change in the Hikers fortune. Dillon Douglas hasn’t loss any touch, he’s as dangerous as ever and smacking the ball cleanly. The pace bowling options of Hikers is a worry as they have gone for plenty runs in the death stages of their previous matches.
Weather
The weather for today is set to be on the rainy side, but their is much optimism that play will be had.
Pitch Conditions
The pitch looks in good condition for T10 cricket, good for batting, not much assistance for the seamers and a bit of turn for spinner who are willing to give it a rip.
