
Match Report: 16th Match – Salt Pond Breakers vs Fort Charlotte Strikers
Strikers won the choose and decided to bowl first, based on the rain that delayed the start of the match.
Ray Jordan wasted no time in getting into the act, removing Leshawn Lewis for a golden duck, off the 3rd delivery of the match. Ambris drove hard and wristfully, hitting Jordan over mid wicket for six. Nigel Small bowled a good 2nd over, only conceding six runs.
Jordan was back for the 3rd over and Ambris climbed into him, flicking the first delivery for six then pressing beautifully over mid off, one bounce into the ropes. Strikers then bounced back beautifully having the Breakers on 62/5 after 8 overs. Spencer bowled the 9th over and Delorn Johnson & Ryan John went on a six hitting spree, blasting four sixes, the over conceding 27 runs. Kimson Dalzell was chosen for the final over and Seon Sween was having a feast, blasting 3 sixes to power Breakers to 113/5 – the last two overs conceding 51 runs. Rasheed Fredericks was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/7 from his 2 overs.
Strikers got off to a good start, finishing the powerplay on 41/0. Javid Harry broke the partnership in the 5th over and kept it tight, only conceding 3 runs off the over. Jeremy Layne bowled the 6th over and got the wicket of Samuel – 49/2 needing 65 from 24 deliveries.
The innings never went anywhere else, as the Strikers could only muster 77/5 from their alloted overs, losing by a whopping 36 runs.
