Match Preview: 15th Match – Grenadines Divers vs Dark View Explorers
Grenadines Divers has all but given away a couple games after being in strong positions, and could have possibly been the table toppers at this point. Instead, they’re tied on points with their opponent for today, Dark View Explorers. A win is extremely crucial for either as the loser will worry as we’re now down to the business end of the tournament.
In The Spotlight
The Divers batting has been a revelation this tournament, compared to the last one. Nevertheless, the two games they loss that they possibly should have won, it has been the batting that has let them down. They have been getting great starts from Shem Browne & Asif Hooper. Theophile has waned off a bit with the bat in his last few matches. Harper looks in decent touch but apart from those, the others aren’t putting up their hands and that’s their area of concern. The Divers bowling strategy has been to utilise spin for the first 8 overs of the innings and it has been serving them well.
Explorers after losing their first 3 matches have turned things around and they’re looking like the team they were hyped up to be. Their batting is turning on the heat, as was expected and continue to make scores within the 100 range look like not much of a challenge. The bowling has been revitalised by their seasoned campaigner, Sealron Williams and new comer Shaquille Browne. Dean Browne has bounced back beautifully with the ball, after being expensive as the new ball bowler in his earlier matches.
The weather for today is set to be fair – the good news is, it doesn’t look like rain will cause any great impact today if it does fall.
The pitch looks in good condition for T10 cricket. It’s starting to slow down a bit but 90-100 still seems to be the scoring range to aim for to be in with a sniff of the game.
