
Match Report: 12th Match – La Soufriere Hikers vs Salt Pond Breakers
Salt Pond Breakers won the toss and choose to bowl first, in overcast conditions that indicated rain could be imminent.
Salvan Browne started with a bang, carving Johnson over covers for six. He perished the next delivery driving tamely to mid off for an easy catch. Kavem Hodge, who opened, was caught pulling on the mid wicket boundary, an entertaining first three deliveries of the match. Ambris bowled the 3rd over to Douglas, who cashed in with a pull for four then pulled a humungous six on the mid wicket roof.
Javid Harry bowled the final powerplay over and had captain Maloney dismissed for another duck, his 3rd of the tournament – Hikers finishing the powerplay on 33/3. Dillon continued to motor along, getting boundaries along the way. Anson Latchman joined and played a sweet cut shot behind point for his first boundary. The rain came and the Hikers went into the break at 56/3 after 5.5 overs.
The rain never relented and play was abandoned, both teams taking a share of the spoils.
