Match Preview: 6th Match – Botanical Garden Rangers vs La Soufriere Hikers
Botanical Garden Rangers would have feel dejected in their first bowling innings where they conceded 114 but the rain came and had a shortened game were they needed 40 runs from 3 overs and they wiped off the total with ease. They’ll now be soaring high to take on the mighty La Soufriere Hikers.
In The Spotlight
Emmanuel Stewart, the overseas player for the Rangers had a debut to remember in VPL. His batting is quite entertaining as he has a wide array of strokes and will be crucial in helping Rangers to negate the spin attack of the Hikers. The Rangers will be looking to improve on their bowling, and the skipper may look to introduce himself earlier into the attack to add the control needed. Their seam bowling options are plenty but the pitches are against them.
The Hikers bowling did nothing wrong in their first game, so they may look to the same strategy of using a spin based attack as the pitches are bare and will offer little to the seamers. Their batting struggled but that maybe down to the nature of pitch as the likes of Douglas and Salvan Browne found it hard to score freely, which is very unusual. They will be confident in overcoming that little hiccup as their batting has been their strong suit. Look for them to come firing on all cylinder today.
Weather
The weather has rain set for the day, however, in this part of the world, there is always the possibility that the weather can miss for a few hours! An extra 30 minutes has been granted for extension for each game in the event of weather delays.
Pitch Conditions
The pitch is very bare and quite flat with nothing in it for fast bowling but possibility can be a little aid for the spinners.
