Match Preview: 5th Match – Fort Charlotte Strikers vs Salt Pond Breakers
Fort Charlotte Strikers had a miserable outing with the bat in their first match, and they’re up against a tough competitor in Salt Pond Breakers. Can this be the game where the Strikers turn their VPL fortunes around?
In The Spotlight
The opening pair of Walker & Pope struggled in their first match. They would have done their assessment and would be looking to right their wrong today. The Strikers has a long batting line up with a variety of players. A shuffling of the batting order maybe seen depending on the match situation. Their bowling has been very impressive in their lone outing, almost doing the impossible and defending 55 runs.
Salt Pond Breakers are flying high in VPL and they are lead by Ambris who looks to dominate from the word go with the bat. Their overseas player Ryan John adds plenty value with his lusty hitting and seam bowling. Add in the likes of Javid Harry, Delorn Johnson and you’ll know, they’re not a team that you can overcome that easy. It will be a cracker of a game if Strikers are to cause an upset.
Weather
The weather has rain set for the day, however, in this part of the world, there is always the possibility that the weather can miss for a few hours! An extra 30 minutes has been granted for extension for each game in the event of weather delays.
Pitch Conditions
The pitch is very bare and quite flat with nothing in it for fast bowling but possibility can be some aid for the spinners.
