Match Report: 28th Match – Fort Charlotte Strikers vs President’s XI

May 31, 2020

Fort Charlotte Strikers won the toss and choose to bat. The veterans of the President’s XI had the Strikers pegged back, not allowing anything loose within the powerplay. They had the Strikers on 42-4 after 6 overs. Thanks to Kirton Lavia’s 37 from 18 balls that consisted of 2 fours and 3 sixes along with a cameo 13 from 4 deliveries by Chelson, pushed the Strikers to 98/5 from their 10 overs, a pretty decent total for a wicket where the ball was lifting off a length. Deighton Butler was the pick of the bowler, bowling both pace and spin, taking 3-21 from his 2 overs.

The Strikers tried something unusual, putting Jaheil Walters to bowl the 2nd over, his first over of the tournament. It was bowled at a lively pace but had too many extras, allowing the President’s XI men to score freely. Miles Bascombe started to get into the groove and dominated the bowling attack, hitting the ball clean and hard. The President’s XI men showed the youngster how it’s done, taking singles often and powering away the bad ball. Miles Bascombe ended with 50 from 29 deliveries, hitting 7 fours and 1 six. The captain, Kishore Shallow finished not out on 12 from 15, steadying his ship to victory.

Summary Scores:
Fort Charlotte Strikers 98/5 (10 overs)
