Match Report: 22nd Match – Fort Charlotte Strikers vs La Soufriere Hikers

Fort Charlotte Strikers won the toss and choose to bat. They got off to a good start, getting the score to 19/1 after the two overs. Othneil Lewis continued to show exemplary control in the powerplay only conceding 10 runs from his 2 overs. At the end of the powerplay, the Strikers were 29/1. Kimson Dalzell was introduced and got the wicket of Billingy and continued to peg the scoring back.

Ronald Scott and Kirton Lavia combined to score 40 runs from the next 22 deliveries to lift the hope of the Strikers to get a competitive total. They were on course to get to a 90+ score but Rayan Williams delivered an excellent last over, conceding only 3 runs. The surface offered some extra lift from a length and with his pace and height, he made use of it. Ronald Scott scored 27 from 16 balls, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. Kirton Lavia scored 20 from 13 balls, hitting 1 four and 1 six.

During the Hikers chase, Rasheed Fredericks bowled a good first over only conceding 7 runs. The Hikers didn’t waste time getting there as three boundaries was taken off the third over, although a wicket fell during the over. The game was completed four deliveries into the fourth over, to put the Hikers temporarily on top of the tables.
