Match Report: 16th Match – Fort Charlotte Strikers vs Grenadines Divers

Grenadines Divers won the toss and choose to bat. Strikers struck in the 2nd over with left arm spinner Fredericks forcing Wayne Harper to chop on. It was a good start by the Strikers, having the Divers 14-1 from 2 overs. The 3rd over bowled by keron Cottoy went for 11 but a good 4th over was bowled by Kirton Lavia that only went for 6 runs, taking the score to 31/1 after the powerplay.

The sloppiness from the Strikers started to show and the runs started to flow. Samuel laid into Spencer taking 17 from the 6th over, carrying the score to 59-1. Cottoy came for the 7th over and got Samuel bowled, but Shem Browne, strategically demoted down the order, took 2 sixes from Cottoy. The Divers carried on merrily, helped by sloppy wicket keeping and numerous extras, to finish their innings on 103/5. Kirton Lavia was the pick of the bowlers taking 2-11 from 2 overs.

Strikers got off to a good start in their chase, being 20/0 from two overs. Richie Richards came and delivered a deathly 3rd over having Renrick Williams caught & bowled then dismissing the dangerous Pope on the final delivery. Obed McCoy came on to finish the powerplay and kept on the pressure. When Richie Richards came back for the 6th over, Sealroy Williams and Kirton lavia got run out in the same over and it pretty much summed up the entire season for the Strikers. They ended up only get to 72/6 and losing by 31 runs.
