Match Preview: Match 15 – Botanical Garden Rangers vs Fort Charlotte Strikers

May 26, 2020

The Fort Charlotte Strikers still haven’t got a win and they’ll definitely be looking to win all games going forward to give themself a chance of qualifying. The Rangers have had a mix tournament so far – when they’re on, they’re on. When they’re off, they can be badly off.

In The Spotlight

For the Rangers, the batting is so ever reliant on Hyron Shallow and Romel Currency. They have a classy player in Atticus Browne opening and they’ll want him to get a good score. Kevin Abraham has been striking it well and can provide some impetus lower down the innings. The Rangers has a well rounded bowling attack so they will want their batting to deliver the goods to give them something to defend.

For the Strikers, their biggest issue has been the basics – many extras, misfields and drop catches. If they tighten up on those, they may get on the points table. Their death over bowling in round 4 was spectacular and they’ll want to continue in that vein. Usually, the powerplay is where the Strikers are at their worst, with both bat and ball.

Weather

The weather is expected to be sunny for most part with some clouds appearing intermittently, with a slight chance of some rain possible.

Pitch Conditions

Conditions are expected to be similar to the previous round – good even bounce for the batsman to cash in!
