Match Report: 6th Match – Grenadines Divers vs Botanical Garden Rangers

May 23, 2020

The final match of round two featured two of the sides that were winless. Rangers won the toss and chose to bowl. The Rangers needed to improve on their miserable bowling display from the previous day, and that they did. Kesrick Williams, who didn’t impress in the first round, bounced back solidly and showed why he is one of the best in the short format. His two overs only conceded 9 runs and he set the tone of the match with the first over. The Grenadines Divers innings never really got going, with most of the batsmen struggling to get the ball away. The Divers were restricted to 66/5 from their 10 overs. Kenneth Dember was the most successful bowler, taking 2-4 from his 2 overs.

The Rangers made light work of the Divers total, with local master blaster Hyron Shallow showing his sheer class playing his brutal cut shots that he’s famous for. His innings of 36 not out from 17 balls contained 3 fours and 3 sixes. Kevin Abraham made 25 from 13 balls, striking 2 fours and 2 sixes. His innings was of high importance as he started to brutalise the Divers attack before Shallow took charge and finished the innings in a hurry.

Summary Scores:
Grenadines Divers 66/5 (10 overs)
Botanical Garden Rangers 70/3 (7.3 overs)
